The Gaelic Rings or, Cearcaill na Gàidhlig (www.gaelic-rings.com) comprise six Gaelic-rich journeys around Scotland’s Hebridean Islands from Islay to Lewis and the West Highland mainland from Kennacraig to Ullapool.
Scotland’s Hebridean Islands and West Highland mainland areas provide a richness of language and history and Cearcaill na Gàidhlig aims to promote the uniqueness of this tradition and culture and highlight the important role Gaelic has played in Scotland’s past and more importantly, its relevance in today’s modern world.
Six highly respected Scots have written their personal journey of The Gaelic rings routes. This film contains an intrdocution to The Gaelic Rings together with a short journey description from each of the writers: Angus Peter Campbell, Mairi Macarthur, Brian Wilson, Iseabail and Margaret Mactaggart, Donald Meek and, Hugh and Jane Cheape. You can then view photographic journeys of the six Gaelic Rings routes, set to the music of Runrig.
